Anyway, here's pretty much the best video I have from the trips I did with Skurka and the National Geographic crew.
Hope it offers an honest flavor of that grand trip of his.
Vimeo version for Euros:
Andrew Skurka's Alaska Yukon Expedition: two legs from Roman Dial on Vimeo.
Awesome compilation!
ReplyDeleteThis is really a great video. Is there any chance you will be posting the Grizzly bear photos of the charge?
ReplyDeleteGrizz photos going to National Geographic.
ReplyDeletePerfect music choice to go with an amazing video. Big thanks for all that went in to making that and sharing it.
ReplyDeleteCan't watch, restricted by national ban of commercial music on youtube :( Too bad, loved to see it. Must be grear, according to the comments.
ReplyDeletebummer Esben! I'll post it on Vimeo.....
ReplyDeleteMaybe this will work in those blocked countries? http://vimeo.com/14702142
ReplyDeletewhat kind of camera are you using Roman?? The footage looks nice...helmet cam???
ReplyDeleteI use a Pentax Optio W60 waterproof point and shoot in video mode.
ReplyDeleteThe way Andrew was using his trekking poles looked odd. Were they fixed length set for holding up his tent? Wouldn't poles the right length for walking plus an extender have given him better service or was he getting a third use out of them?
ReplyDeleteYes fixed length, one was shorter than the other because he lost one in the Eastern Brooks Range and had to make do with a replacement of a different length. Unsure how he used his poles to set up his tent but he needed two, and he likes 115 cm poles on technical terrain and longer poles for beaches and trails.
ReplyDeleteVery cool music selection. Who is it, and what's the title?
ReplyDeleteNevermind . . . I discovered the 'scroll over' header in the video window. ;)
ReplyDeleteWilderness is awesome.
ReplyDeletenice work on the compilation. great glimpse of Skurka's epic journey. glad he finished safely.
