  2. Holy cow is Andy bad at softball! I'm interested to hear about his Skurka model raft.

  3. Yes Sven, we flew in a dry-suit and a real PFD for his 200 miles of paddling on the Chitistone/Nizina/Kennicott/Chitina/Copper as they are wicked cold glacial rivers. They are Gore-Tex Kokatat with socks, relief zipper --- this one http://www.kokatat.com/product_detail.asp?code=gfer and weigh 3 pounds 1 oz for a Large.

Dave, he did end up scoring -- I just didn't get it on video.... His raft was a bit lighter but he complained about the spray deck not working and the zipper jamming in the silt.

  4. In retrospect my comment seems harsh, which I did not intend. He looks a damn sight better than me playing basketball.

I'm quite in awe of his ability to muster psyche and do projects of this magnitude. Only 3000 miles to go!

  5. He'll be glad to have the PFD and dry suit for some spots on the coast. Goat trail area looked beautiful with the snow. Nice video. I'm jealous.

  6. Yea Dave, Peggy said I was mean for putting that at the end of the video, but at least we know he's human!

Eric, he sent the PFD and drysuit back with me. I think he has really good luck as well as amazing athletic prowess and brains, so I bet the weather holds like this all the way across.

  7. Curious how you guys deal with the Mosquito's whilst using Mids this time of year? Outside of winter and fall, everytime I use my mid, I never get a good nights sleep from the bugs inside.

  8. We had no bugs. Too dry and too windy, I guess, out on the gravel bars.
